If you are using any previous silhouette cutting models cameo 3 portrait 2 etc you must use a cutting mat to cut out cardstock or other paper materials.
First look at how the silhouette cameo 4 can cut paper without a mat.
Previous silhouette machines allow you to cut vinyl and other backed materials without a mat but with the portrait 3 and the cameo 4 you can now cut materials like cardstock and paper without a mat.
Change the cutting mat to none.
Make sure you are cutting something with backing like vinyl ps this is my favorite vinyl ever and it s an amazing price on amazon with free shipping if you cut something like paper without a mat the piece you cut out won t have anywhere to go and it will be sliding around in your.
Save those mats for cardstock.
When you aren t cutting without a mat you can cut.
Of course there isn t a ten foot mat available omg how would one store such a thing so if you want to cut longer than 24 cut without a mat.
The cutting mat can still be used to cut on the cameo 4.
First you want to set up the software to tell the cameo that you are cutting without a mat.
